open the picture in photoshop, then select File/ save as. in the dialog box that appears there should be a drop down menu that says file type or sth like that. you can choose jpeg format from there. if other windows appear after that, click yes to all of them (e.g. Flatten image?)

open photoshop, open the file which you want to change format, now click 'save as' and change the format given below put jpeg then save
Go to ''save as'' and then change the box on the bottom from photoshop to .jpeg. then save it. It will be listed as _____copy.
If I'm understanding you correctly, you can't get an image to work for a website background....

you need to make sure you've set your image to the correct color mode. With your image opened, and ready to be saved...first go to Image%26gt;Mode%26gt;RGB Color. RGB color is what you need to use for images that are going to be used for the web. CMYK color is for images that will be printed. (you can also set the color mode when you start a new project)

After changing the color mode, you can save to a .jpeg and your background should most definitely work for you.
When you go to save the PS file, choose ''save as''. It's here you'll get the option to save as JPEG. Just select it from the drop down menu... Or Choose ''save for web'' Was this best answer?! :)
You probably need to flatten the layers that were made by Photoshop when you changed the image.

From the top menu:

Go to Layer%26gt;%26gt;Flatten Image

then you can go Edit%26gt;%26gt;Save As and choose jpeg from the formats

Hope that helps
use crop option for it and save it as jpeg extension...
