Do Pro Photographers use Photoshop?

I've always loved photography,

and dreamed of becoming a photographer.

I have occasionally used photoshop,

but hardly ever use it, and haven't for a while.

I own a KODAK EASYSHARE P850 Zoom Digital Camera and a Canon SD600.

Do all photographers use photoshop?

I feel as though it disturbs the nature of photography,

and almost cheats it.

I want to become a better photographer.

Will it be extremely difficult as an entry level photographer to be competitive without photoshop skills? Yes.

An entire generation of photographers has embraced photoshop as the ''digital darkroom.'' The majority (but not all) of the pros who don't use photoshop have people that do it for them if needed. They became established before digital became so omnipresent.

Succeeding as a pro photographer is a difficult proposition, and if you shun photoshop, you've placed yourself at a competitive disadvantage. Not to say you can't succeed: but you've made an already difficult task even more challenging.
